Minister for Stamps and Registrations Thota Narasimham today said Jaggampet mandal stood first at national level in successful implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
Inaugurating the training programme for the 'MATES' at the ZP High school premises in Veeravaram village of Kirlampudi mandal today, he said, even in conducting effective social audit also, the mandal occupied top place.
'In Kirlampudi mandal, so far, Rs 16 crore worth of works were taken up under the MGNREGS of which Rs 2 crore works would be completed by March and some more special works would be commenced shortly.
The government included some more works under the scheme through a GO such as laying of field bunds, leveling of public places, grave yards and fields de-silting. If any worker dies while working , their families would be paid insurance' he added.
The Minister has advised the MATES to have proper understanding of the scheme and ensure its effective implementation so that large number of workers would be benefitted.
