Kerala defeat Goa by 10 wickets

Kerala today defeated Goa by 10 wickets in the C K Nayudu Trophy U-25 Cricket tournament on the last day of the 4-day match, which concluded at bits Pilani ground at Zuari Nagar in south Goa.

With this win, Kerala gained seven points including a bonus point. Goa in their second innings chased Kerala's first inning lead of 127 runs. Resuming at overnight score of 45 for 2 in their second innings, Goa failed to negotiate the fierce attack from the Kerala bowlers and dropped wickets at a regular interval and managed to score 146 all out in 57 overs after lunch with only Siddesh Ramani 30, Darshan Misal 21, Vidhyadhar Kamat 16 and Gaurav Dessai 12 could contribute for the hosts.

N Niyas 3 for 27, S Warrior 2 for 39 and Saly Samson 2 for 22 were the most succesful bolwers for the visitors.

Kerala, who needed 20 runs for an outright win, had no difficulty as they scored 21 runs for no loss in 4 overs in the second innings on strength of Sanjiv Samson (not out 17) and Sachin Baby (not out4) and won the match by 10 wickets with a bonus point.
