DGP directs officers to take steps to maintain law and order
Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Shriniwas Vashist has directed the senior field functionaries of the police department to take effective steps to maintain law and order in the state, especially in view of the Diwali festival.
The DGP asked them to act swiftly in case of any incident and also directed them to take all possible preventive measures.
He was reviewing the security arrangements made by all the Range Inspector Generals of Police, Commissioners of Police and District Superintendents of Police and Superintendent of Police Government Railway Police in the state through a video conference from here today.
Mr Vashisht directed them to take effective steps to check those involved in the sale of fire crackers without license, especially in the densely populated areas.
Apart from this, they had also been directed to make sure that only license holders were allowed to sell the crackers at the places specified by the respective district administration, he said and added that they would also ensure that such sellers have adequate arrangement to deal with any untoward incident like fire.
He said to further strengthen the police force during festival season, 4200 Home Guards had been added to the existing police force in the state. "This is in addition to deputing the police personnel of Haryana Armed Police", he added.
