A mixed trend was witnessed in ferrous and non-ferrous metals today, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In ferrous metals, copper heavy and copper utensils rose by Rs 100 per candy each due to lsesser stock supply from stockists.
Brass utensils and brass cuttings drifted lower by Rs 100 per candy each following lower demand from local dealers, traders said.
In non-ferrous metals, copper wire bars and aluminium ingot increased by Rs 100 per candy each following renewed demand while tin slab and nickel cathode eased by Rs 5 per kg each on scattered demand, traders said.
Ferrous metals (per quintal in Rupees) : Copper heavy Rs 47,700, Copper utensils Rs 43,800, Brass utensils Rs 31,800, Brass cuttings Rs 32,800 and Aluminum utensils Rs 11,400.
Non-ferrrous metals: Copper wire bars Rs 51,100, Aluminium ingot Rs 14,100, Zinc slab Rs 13,600, Lead ingot Rs 12,400, Tin slab Rs 1,335 and Nickel cathode Rs 1,050.
There will be no trading in metal market for three days from tomorrow on account of 'Diwali' festival.
The market will re-open on Friday, traders informed.
