He inspected the guard of honour and also met members of the Indian Cabinet.
"As always, it's a great honour for the people of Afghanistan and me. The President
of India has been so kind to me. Today meeting will further enhance the relationship of the people of India and Afghanistan," Karzai told media.
Karzai, who arrived here on Sunday evening on the second leg of his four-day state visit to India, will hold delegation-level talks with Dr. Singh today.
President Karzai will also deliver the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Memorial Lecture organized by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations here.
The Afghan President arrived in Mumbai on November 9 on the first leg of his visit to India.
President Karzai's visit, after Prime Minister's landmark visit to Kabul in May 2011, carries forward the high-level engagement between the two countries.
During President Karzai's last visit to India in October 2011, a historic 'Strategic Partnership Agreement' was signed.
The visit provides an opportunity for both countries to review and consolidate their strategic partnership and discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
