India's CPI inflation at 9.75pc in Oct

The annual consumer price inflation based on all India general Consumer Price Index (CPI) for October on point to point basis was at 9.75pc , according to government data released on Monday.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Statistics and Programme Implementation Srikant Kumar Jena announced the release of the monthly provisional Consumer Price Index (CPI) on Base 2010 = 100 along with annual inflation rates for October 2012, compiled by the Central Statistics Office.

All India provisional General (all groups) CPI numbers of October 2012 for rural, urban and combined are 126.7, 122.6 and 124.9 respectively.

Provisional annual inflation rate based on all India general CPI (Combined) for October 2012 on point to point basis (October 2012 over October 2011) is 9.75 pc .

The corresponding provisional inflation rates for rural and urban areas are 9.98 pc and 9.46 pc respectively.

Inflation rates (final) for rural, urban and combined for September 2012 are 9.79 pc , 9.72 pc and 9.73pc respectively.
