Communist Party of India (CPI) Andhra Pradesh unit Secretary K Narayana today alleged that the Congress Government, communal parties and MIM were solely responsible for the violence incidence occurred at Sri Bhagyalakshmi Temple in Old city.

In a media statement here, Dr Narayana remainded that the High Court had given an order maintaining 'status-quo' as on October 31 for not taking up any construction activities at the temple.

He said the communal incidents would not have taken place if the state Government had taken preventive measures by addressing the court directive given earlier which said the status-quo should be maintained at the temple.

He called upon the people in the old city to maintain peace and not to belive the rumours.

The CPI leader also asked both the communities to respect the places of worship instead of not indulging in any violent act.

Dr Narayana also asked the state government, all political parties and people to protect the 400-years-old Bhagyanagar from communal violence.
