Tamil Nadu 'becoming alcoholic' thanks to TASMAC shops: Ramadoss
Pattali Makkal Katchi(PMK) founder- President S Ramadoss, who has been demanding imposition of total prohibition in Tamil Nadu, today alleged that the state government was 'destroying the lives' of the economically backward people by supplying liquor through (TASMAC) shops.
Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that last year Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) shops had a revenue of Rs 200 crore and added this year the ruling AIADMK government had targetted sales to the tune of Rs 250 crore.
He also alleged that the state government was not supplying essential commodities like palm oil, dal and rice to the poor. 'But due to lack of space to store the varieties of liquor in TASMAC shops, they were being stored in marriage halls all over the state', he alleged.
'The state government is spoiling the lives of the poor people by supplying liquor to them. I strongly condemn this', he charged.
