Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley paid a surprise visit to the City last night.
The visit of the 'trouble shooter', though claimed to be a private one, by party sources, assumes significance as former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa appears to be steadfast about his decision to leave the party next month.
Party sources said Mr Jaitley flew in here along with BJP National General Secretary H N Ananth Kumar, but declined to confirm whether the Opposition Leader in the Rajya Sabha met Yeddyurappa or not.
Mr Yeddyurappa, who was disgusted over BJP humiliating him, has already announced formal launch of new party Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) at Haveri on December 9 and announce his resignation to the BJP party on that day.
Mr Yeddyurappa had repeatedly said his decision to quit BJP and form a new party is definite and there is no going back.
Former Union Minister Dhananjaya Kumar had been appointed as KJP President on Friday and Mr Yeddyurappa will take over on December 9.
