Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today said his government was constructing more houses in the State than capacity of the entire real estate sector.
Speaking after inaugurating the 'APREDA Property Show 2012', organised by the Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers Association (APREDA) in association with the Jones Lang LaSalle at the Hitex Exhibition Ground here, Mr Reddy said the government was constructing more than 10 lakh houses, which are at various stages of construction.
He said that the Indiramma Housing was one of the flagship schemes of the State Government.
The Chief Minister said his Government aims to make Andhra Pradesh a 'Hut-free' State. Therefore, he said that the government was focused on providing permanent housing to the homeless poor.
Union Minister of state for Tourism K Chiranjeevi advised the realtors to also focus on taking up mega projects in Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts.
The two-day property exhibition had 188 stalls with leading Real Estate Developers and Builders showcasing their latest properties ranging from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 4 crore to prospective buyers.
