CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechury today alleged that people were vexed with the 'anti-people policies' of UPA II government and would teach a lesson to it.
Laying the foundation for the construction of Makineni Basava Punniah study centre here today, he said the 'Aam Aadmi' disillusioned with the Congress led UPA II government and were ready to teach a lesson in 2014 elections.
Blaming Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi for reducing subsidies, he pointed out that lakhs of crores of rupees subsidies were being extended to the corporate companies in the form of tax holiday. But the poor and the common men is being squeezed' he alleged.
He said a national level agitation would be launched against anti-people policies.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh CPM secretary B V Raghavulu, talking to reporters here said the party would launch a statewide agitation on the imposition of surcharges for electricity by state electricity companies and also on the failure of the state government on the Power front.
