Shatabdi Express train which normally arrives at Ambala Cantonment station at its fixed time 1028 hrs reached at 1014 hrs, 14 minutes ahead of its scheduled time today.

Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was traveling in the train enroute Chandigarh.

The train left Ambala after halting here for 16 minutes.

Usually the train arrives in time or late by few minutes daily. But today it reached 14 minutes prior to its scheduled time and stayed here for 16 minutes that is 14 plus 2 minutes halting time at the station.

People especially passengers were surprised of the new situation since nobody could believe that any train could reach ahead of its scheduled time.

Since it was the first visit of the Railway Minister to Chandigarh after taking over the charge of his portfolio, there was no show band or 'Dhol' as the Minister had ordered to ban it because it caused inconvenience to the passengers traveling in the trains.

However, the railway station was given new look by undertaking cleanliness all over the complex. After arriving the station, the Railway Minister had consultations with the Ambala DRM P K Sanghi and had understood to have issued directions to bring improvement in the working of railways.

Later, he left for Chandigarh at 1028 hrs. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager P K Singh and other officials accompanied the Railway Minister.
