Communist Party of India (CPI) Kerala unit secretary Pannian Ravindran today said it would stage a protest demonstration against the government's move to allot its land and Halycon castle at Kovalam to RP Group, owned by Mr Ravi Pillai.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Pannian Ravindran said the government was to give the 22 acre land, which would cost about Rs 1000 crore to a capitalist called Mr Ravi Pillai under lease agreement for 99 years.
"If the people do not protest this move, the future generation would accuse us," he said.
Mr Panninan said the LDF government had taken over this land through an ordinance.
There was no difference of opinion among CPI(M) or CPI, he said, answering another question.
