Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has instructed all departments concerned to make arrangements for Chhath Puja, which falls six days after Diwali, said Mukesh Sharma, parliamentary secretary to the chief minister, Friday.
"Civic agencies have been alerted to ensure cleanliness and sanitation around Chhath ghats," Sharma said.
The Public Works Department and Irrigation and Flood Control Department have also been working in tandem to make Chhath Puja celebrations successful, an official said.
Sharma, along with working president, World Bhojpuri Sammelan, Ajit Dubey, initiated construction work of a Chhath Ghat at Najafgarh Canal and a Chhath Park in Vipin Garden Extension in west Delhi.
