Sonia asks Congressmen to counter opposition's false propaganda
Asserting that the opposition is bent upon spreading disinformation on political, moral and policy issues, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday asked her party workers to respond aggressively to the former's false propaganda.
Addressing the party's daylong brainstorming session at Surajkund, Gandhi highlighted the achievements of the UPA Government at the Centre in the last eight years.
Reiterating the Congress Party's commitment to the interest of the common man, the UPA chairperson said that the ruling government has changed the face of India through unparalleled programmes and laws.
Lauding Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Gandhi said the former's proficient leadership has helped the nation stave off to a large extent the effects of the global economic slowdown for the past few years when countries much more developed than India are in crisis.
The Congress President asked her party workers to put forth their views on empowering weaker sections of the society.
She also asked her party men to ready themselves in the next 18 months for the next Lok Sabha polls.
"The party has to be ready as only 18 months have been left for Lok Sabha elections," she said.
