The Supreme Court today declined to order a CBI probe against godman Asaram Bapu in the case of the mysterious death in 2008 of two boys in his ashram located in Ahmedabad allegedly due to tantric rituals.
The Gujarat CID had charged the godman with the offence of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Gujarat High Court had struck down the charges made by the CID.
The petitioner had demanded a CBI inquiry alleging that the two children lost their lives as a result of 'tantrik vidya' (tantric rituals) being practised in his ashram.
