Giving a breather to the Andhra Pradesh Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathi, the High court today granted further stay on the conviction order against him by the Economic Offence Court here in the Fema Case.
Justice Raja Elango in his order has clarified the stay would continue till the dispute arised out due to the Enforcement Directorate Tribunal verdict in New Delhi was sorted out.
The Tribunal in New Delhi has upheld the fine of Rs three lakh imposed by the ED on Parthasarathi for clandestinely transporting the funds of his firm to foreign countries in 2003.
However, as the Minister had not paid the fine, the Economic Offence Court at Nampally here on the complaint from ED has slapped a fine of Rs 5 lakh upon the Minister and given him two-month jail term.
The Minister has challenged the verdicts of the tribunal and the Economic offences court in the high court by filing separate petitions.
Justice Elango has granted stay on the two verdicts earlier.
As the stay granted by the court on the economic offence court judgement would end tomorrow, the court has passed orders extending further.
