German wholesale giant METRO Cash and Carry today announced the opening of its distribution centre at Vijayawada from tomorrow.
This is the retailer's 13th wholesale distribution centre in the country, and its third in Andhra Pradesh, after two in Hyderabad at Moosapet and Uppal.
METRO has invested nearly Rs 60 crore in infrastructure, supply chain, customer support programme and employee training and development at its Vijayawada outlet, which is spread across 56,000 square feet, it said in a release.
It will cater to a wide customer base that includes small and large kirana stores, entrepreneurs, small businesses, offices, companies and institutions, as well as hotels, restaurants and caterers.
METRO Cash and Carry, a sales division of the METRO GROUP, had entered the Indian market in 2003.
