Jaya hands over patrol vehicles to police dept.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today handed over 238 patrol vehicles to the police department.
These vehicles were procured at a cost of Rs 24.91 crore.
An official statement here said, the Chief Minister ordered the purchase of 69 vehicles for patrolling at national highways, 69 for state highways and 100 for the Chennai city.
Following this, a total number of 238 vehicles (90 Chevrolet Tavera, 48 Tata Grande and 100 Toyota Innovas) were presented to the police department by Ms Jayalalithaa.
Ministers, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary for Home Department, Director General of Police, Chennai City Police Commissioner and other officials were present on the occasion.
