First Contemporary at exhibition from Dec 12

India's first contemporary art exhibition will be held at Fort Kochi , Mattancherry, Kochi City and Muziris premises from December 12.

Addressing at news conference here, Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany today said the exhibition would be organised for three months.

Stating that Kerala's heritage art performance would be showcased in the exhibition, he said eminent drama artist Sanjana Kapoor would inaugurate the festival on November near Holy Christ Church at Gothuruth.

The inaugural function would showcase the performance of new generation artistes from Peruvanam village. Sixty child artistes are expected to participate in the function. Padmasree Peruvanam kuttan Marar would attend the function, he said adding that artiste Ramachandran Keli would curate the function.

Eminent Chavittunatakam artistes from Gothuruth would also be present at the function writers like N S Madhavan and Sethu will be honoured during the cultural evening.

Cultural programmes like Nangyar Kooth, Mizhavu, Thayambaka, Ottam Thullal, Kathakali, Melam, Gazal nights and Band performances will also be performed in coming days.

Curator Keli Ramachandran and members of Kochi Muziris Biennale foundation Boss Krishnamachary, Riyas Komu and Bonnie Thomas were also present in the press conference.
