Japan's first-half current account surplus logged a record low of 2,721.4 billion yen of fiscal 2012, according to a report released by the finance ministry Thursday.
The surplus in the balance of international payments dropped 41.3 percent from a year earlier, marking the smallest number of the April-September period since comparable data became available in 1985, reported Xinhua.
The government's preliminary report said that the balance of goods trade came to a deficit of 2,619.1 billion yen.
