New Delhi, March 22 : The annual budget for the national capital was presented in the Delhi assembly Monday by Finance Minister A.K. Walia. The following is the list of things that would be dearer post-budget.
-- Price of diesel to go up by Rs.2.37 per litre.
-- Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) used in vehicles to get costlier by Rs.1.09 per kg.
-- Subsidy on domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) withdrawn. A 14.2-kg cylinder to cost Rs.40 more.
-- Value Added Tax (VAT) on luxury mobile phones and accessories above Rs.10,000 hiked from 5 percent to 12.5 percent.
-- VAT on watches above Rs.5,000 up from 12.5 to 20 percent.
-- VAT on readymade garments above Rs.5,000 up from five to 12.5 percent.
-- Fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, kerosene stoves, lanterns, embroidery and zari items to cost more.
-- Prices of cocoa, coffee, tea, desi ghee, dry fruits, kesar (saffron) and glucose-D will go up.
-- Household plastic items, utensils and cutlery items and inverters will also get costlier.
