Amma ends Bharat Darshan with Kolkata

Kolkata, Mar 22 : Mata Amritanandamayi Devi generally known as 'Amma' completed the last leg of her 50-day Bharat Darshan at M.A Math Ashram at Sarkarpur, Budge Budge road,on Sunday.

The public function in the evening saw many dignitaries paying their respect to AMMA and encouraging the public and government to come forward and support Math's creative service programs.

They included Partha Chatterjee, Leader of opposition, West Bengal State Assembly; Vishnu Pada Ray, M.P from Andaman and Nicobar Islands; M.D. Jena, M.P. from Bhadrak and Rajendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Government of West Bengal and many other community leaders.

Amma presided over the distribution of keys of the newly built flats at Panihati to few beneficiaries.

This project of 275 lakhs taken as part of Amma's programme to build I lakh houses for the poor was done jointly with K.M.D.A at riverside plot allotted by them.

The Math has completed over 40,000 such houses of which 800 are already in West Bengal.
