LPG cylinder gets dearer in Delhi

New Delhi, March 22 : The Delhi government Monday announced increase in the price of LPG cylinders by Rs.40 each, a move that many Delhiites will find hard to digest in the face of soaring inflation.

While presenting the annual budget for the national capital in the Delhi assembly, Finance Minister A.K. Walia proposed withdrawing the subsidy on LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) in Delhi.

"None of the state governments give subsidy on LPG, so we have decided to withdraw it," Walia told reporters here.

A 14.2 kg LPG cylinder presently costs Rs.285 in Delhi.
