Chennai, Mar 21: Pune and Kochi have become the latest teams to join the Indian Premier League (IPL). These two teams would participate in the fourth edition of the mega T20 league, IPL commissioner Lalit Modi said here on Sunday.
Sahara won the bid for Pune with a price of Rs 1,702 crore for 10 years while Randezvous Sports got Kochi with a Rs 1,533.32 crore bid.
"There were five qualified bidders and the bidding was extremely competetive," Modi said.
Speaking on whether more teams would be included in the IPL in the future, Modi said, "We are 10 and I don't see any new additions for now."
"But you never know," he added
