London, March 17 : Ky-Mani Marley, son of late reggae legend Bob Marley, has defended his decision to publish a controversial book about his late father.
Ky-Mani Marley tried to delay the release of "Dear Dad: Where's the Family In Our Family, Today?" after realising it could upset his relatives, but the book hit shelves last month to mark what would have been his father's 65th birthday, reports dailyexpress.co.uk.
The book's cover boasts that it contains the "story the Marley family apparently didn't want you to know".
But Ky-Mani Marley took issue with his publishing firm over the claim and his editor Farrah Gray agreed to pull the tagline off the book's second edition.
Marley has now spoken out about the controversy surrounding the expose.
"The book was not an attack on my family. I love my brothers and sisters more than anyone can know," he wrote on his MySpace page.
