Islamabad, Mar. 17 : PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed has said that President Barack Obama's political future depends upon Pakistan's support in winning the war on terror, thereby allowing for the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.
He pointed out that a safe exit of US troops from Afghanistan is a priority of the Obama administration, which was not possible without help from Islamabad.
The Nation quoted Sayed as saying that the US needs Pakistan more than Pakistan needs the US; therefore, Pakistan should play its cards intelligently.
Sayed added that both NATO and the US would be out of Afghanistan in the next few years, therefore, Pakistan would have to play a key role in stabilising Afghanistan.
At that time, he said, Pakistan should not repeat its mistakes and must not have any favourites in Afghanistan.
He also urged the US to invest in the FATA and make the Reconstruction and Opportunity Zones a reality sooner than later.
