Bangalore, Mar 16: Union home minister P Chindambaram on Tuesday said the incident of shooting at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Byalalu security staff here does not look like a terrorist attack, reports said.
"There is no threat to ISRO," he reportedly said.
"It is an amateurish attack," he said adding that the government has asked for the ISRO security to be reviewed..
Media reports quoting ISRO said two men were lurking near the ISRO centre in the wee hours. When security personnel questioned them, they opened fire and the guards retaliated.
The two men managed to escape.
"The shootout happened at 3:30 am," said Abdul Rehman, ADGP, law and order, Karnataka.
"The two men wore khaki uniform," he said, and added it is too early to speculate if it was a planned attack.
The identity of the shooters is not known.
