Mumbai, Mar 15 : Absconding gangster Dawood Ibrahim has been planning to blow up several targets in Mumbai, media reports said on Monday.
According to reports, two arrested terrorists-Abdul Latif alias Guddu and Riyaz Ali alias Rehan-who were arrested from Matunga on Saturday, have confessed to the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) that they were planning to blow up Mangaldas Market (near Crawford Market), two malls, and a large housing complex in Borivali.
The duo, remanded to police custody till March 18, was also targeting the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's (ONGC) administrative building Vasundhara in Bandra.
During investigations, the suspected terrorists have repeatedly referred to someone called 'Chacha' who helped them to mastermind the blasts.
They said 'Chacha' is an absconding accused of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts; a hint at Dawood.
The ATS has also reportedly got other proofs that indicate Dawood's involvement in the case, said ATS sources.
On Saturday, the two suspects were held with maps of important installations.
The duo had made several calls to Karachi in the last few days.
