Maya is a ringmaster: Congress

Lucknow, Mar 15 : Senior Congress leader Rita Bahuguna on Monday ridiculed Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati's mega rally to celebrate 25 years of her Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and called her 'a ringmaster'.

"Mayawati is nothing but a ringmaster and her rally is a circus," Bahuguna told reporters on Monday.

Another Congress leader Digvijay Singh also criticized her for spending Rs 200 crore on the rally.

"The UP Chief Minister has spent crores of rupees on a rally. But she does not have the time or the money to spend on those who were injured in the recent Pratapgarh temple stampede ," Singh told media.

Meanwhile, Maya is busy with the rally that is being held on the party founder, Kanshi Ram's birth anniversary.

More than 20 lakh people are expected to attend the rally.

According to reports, at least 10,000 police personnel will be on duty during the rally to check untoward incidents.

Two special trains would also run to ferry BSP workers to and from the state capital.

A total of 17 temporary hospitals with 200 doctors and 500 paramedics will be on standby to attend to medical emergencies, if any, during the mega rally, reports added
