Srei Sahaj joins hands with State Bank of India

Kolkata, March 15: Srei Sahaj e-Village Ltd., a subsidiary of Srei Infrastructure Finance, Monday inked a deal with the State Bank of India (SBI) to ensure financial inclusion of rural areas, a company statement said here.

The company plans financial inclusion by offering SBI banking services through Sahaj Rural Development Foundation (SRDF). The company will set up common service centres (CSCs) in West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa and Tamil Nadu to facilitate this.

"Sahaj will also provide other services like insurance, mutual funds and other financial products including mobilization of deposits/micro deposits outreach directly through its channel within the laid down guidelines by the Reserve Bank of India, IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority), SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) and other regulatory body or authority," the release said.
