Acer gets multi-touch and 3D laptops

Mumbai/Kolkata, Dec 8 : Acer, the world's second largest PC brand, has launched multi-touch and 3D laptops in India.

The Acer Aspire 5738PzG series includes a 15.6-inch screen with advanced multi-touch technology for an enriched digital multimedia experience with fingertip precision. Navigation is quick and seamless with touch screen features which allow the user to instinctively zoom in and out, manipulate pictures and artwork easily, browse photos, websites or documents by simply touching the screen.

The company also launched a premium stylish All-In-One PC featuring the multi-touch technology. The Aspire 5600 series All-In-One PC has a minimalist design scheme and comes with Microsoft's Touch Pack for Windows.

S. Rajendran, CMO Acer India said 'The intuitive features of Aspire 5738PzG make computing fun and easy. Multitouch input brings a new dimension to laptop functionality as it offers a natural way for users to interact with PCs. With the introduction of the Aspire 5738PzG Notebook and the Aspire 5600 series All-In-One PC, Acer is heralding a touch revolution and opening the doors to further innovation in future technology.'

Meanwhile, the Aspire 5738D series of 3D notebooks were also introduced to the Indian market, said a company release Tuesday.

Rajan Anandan, Managing Director, Microsoft India said, 'Today, technology is moving towards natural and ubiquitous computing and with the 3D notebook, Acer is changing the way users consume technology to create a deeper, more immersive experience. Windows 7 has been built to make new things possible and we are excited to collaborate with Acer to deliver greater value and innovation for our customers.'

The 3D enabled 5738D is a three pillar system that relies upon a 3D film coating on the display, polarising glasses and bespoke software to display videos, games and photos in 3D.
