Mumbai, Mar 11: Dialog Telekom, Sri Lanka's largest mobile carrier with over six million subscriber base, has adopted Internet Radio service called Music Station, built on Geodesic's Mundu Radio platform for its subscribers.
Geodesic Limited (BSE: 503699, NSE: GEODESIC) is one of India's leading provider of communication, information and entertainment products on Mobile phones, Desktop and Internet.
Speaking about the deployment, Kiran Kulkarni, MD, Geodesic said, "This is an exciting phase for Mundu Radio, as we have signed up deals with a number of operators in India, Asia and far-east. We are confident of the service doing well in Sri Lanka, and being the number one service provider in Sri Lanka, we are indeed very proud to be associated with Dialog Telekom."
Currently, Music Station includes local Sinhala language content, which was delivered by Dialog's long standing partner Microimage.
The service has niche genres and international content across genres such as such as Pop, Rock, Hip-hop, Jazz and much more. The technology is designed to scale seamlessly, allowing unlimited channels to be added to the offering.
Commenting on the affiliation, Supun Weerasinghe, CEO of Dialog Mobile, said: "The sphere of mobility is evolving at a fast pace - beyond the paradigm of communication. Today it encompasses infotainment, lifestyle, services and much more; and Dialog has been at the forefront of presenting value-added innovations to customers in the South Asian region. In delivering superior value to consumer experience, it is our continuous philosophy to build lasting relations with like-minded entities, and our association with Geodesic will complement our individual competencies."
Dialog Music Station would offer Dialog subscribers the ease of tuning into radio stations, streaming 24x7, and listen to music in a wider variety of genres. Geodesic has earlier also provided Mundu radio to major telecom players like Idea, Tata Teleservices Ltd.
