Andy Whitfield diagnosed with cancer

March 10, 2010 : Popular U.S. show, Spartacus, which was to begin production for its second season in New Zealand in a few weeks, has been postponed.

This is because the show's lead actor, Andy Whitfield has been diagnosed with cancer. The actor is currently battling with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and will be undergoing treatment for it soon.

The actor is positive that he will recover from the disease because it was detected early. He admits to receiving very good care and feels strong and confident and even determined to beat cancer.

The actor plays gladiator slave Spartacus on the show with the same name.
