Ruckus over MPs suspension; Lok Sabha adjourned

New Delhi, Mar 10: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Wednesday, with virtually no business transacted, as the issue of forcible eviction of Rajya Sabha MPs opposing the Women's Reservation Bill led to ruckus in the House.

Speaker Meira Kumar was forced to adjourn the proceedings till noon when the House met for the day and again till 2 p.m. But as the uproar continued, she was compelled to adjourn the House for the day when it reassembled at 2 p.m., without even the papers being laid.

Lalu Prasad and Sharad Yadav led their parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) respectively, supported by MPs of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Lok Jansakti Party (LJP), in creating the ruckus.

They stormed to the well of the House, shouting 'marshal bulao' (call in the marshals) slogans. As the MPs threatened to getting more aggressive, the Speaker was forced to finally adjourn the House for the day.

They were protesting the eviction of their party MPs of Rajya Sabha with the help of marshals on Tuesday when the MPs had refused to leave the House even after being suspended.
