Chandigarh, March 10 : The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) will hold its all-India conference in Punjab's Zirakpur town March 17-21.
"Around 2,500 delegates elected from 51 lakh members of CITU and 100 foreign delegates from 25 countries will participate in the conference," a CITU spokesperson said here Wednesday.
"They will review the achievements and deficiencies of the CITU. Further strategy to be adopted by CITU for its struggle for the working class for the next three years will also be decided during the conference."
The CITU will also elect its office bearers, working committee and the general council.
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and legislators from Kerala and Tripura will also participate in the conference, he said. The three states are ruled by the Left parties.
