Salesman robbed of Rs.1.15 lakh in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, March 9 : In yet another daylight robbery here, two motorcycle-borne men Tuesday assaulted and looted Rs.1.15 lakh in cash from a sales representative, police said.

The crime took place around 5 p.m. near Karhera locality of Ghaziabad, an official said.

Neeraj Kumar, a sales representative of Vodafone mobile phone company, was carrying Rs.1.15 lakh cash of his day's sale and was going on his motorbike to deposit the money with the office at Nehru Nagar.

When he neared Karhera, two men on a black motorcycle hit him from the side and snatched the bag containing the cash after he lost his balance and fell down, police said.

"A case has been registered and a search is on for the two robbers," said Circle Officer (Border) Vir Singh.
