Per capita income goes up in Delhi

New Delhi, March 9 : The per capita income in the Indian capital saw a jump of Rs.8,452 in 2008 over the previous year, said a report released here Tuesday.

The Delhi Statistical Handbook 2009 released by Finance Minister A.K. Walia found that the per capita income was Rs.70,238 in 2006-07 and Rs.78,690 in 2007-08 against the national average of Rs.33,283.

The infant mortality rate in Delhi has also shown improvement with 25.44 per thousand births in 2007 and 18.38 in 2008, it said.
