Gandhinagar, March 8: Gujarat will host Indo-Asian IT business alliance meet "Indiasoft-2011" in Ahmedabad next year, a government statement said Monday.
The decision was taken when a 28-member IT business delegation from various Asian countries and Australia called on Chief Minister Narendra Modi here Monday.
The delegation, which included businessmen from Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Vietnam, was impressed with Gujarat's IT infrastructure, e-governance and IT intensive policies and showed interest in partnering with the state in the IT sector, a government statement said.
Detailing the state's IT framework, Modi told the delegation that the state had a 65,000-km long optical fibre network, round the clock electricity supply, pro-active e-governance and e-gram broadband connectivity facility to all the 13,693 village panchayats (village councils) in the state.
