New Zealand court finds youth guilty of killing Indian

By Amandeep Kaur, Auckland, March 4, : A 22-year-old youth was Thursday held guilty of fatally shooting Indian store owner Navtej Singh in New Zealand.

The high court jury at Auckland found Anitelea Chan-Kee guilty of murder by firing the fatal shot on Navtej Singh.

Singh was shot dead during a robbery at his Manurewa liquor store June 7, 2008. He died from the bullet wound to his stomach.

Five other accused - Myron Felise, 22, Tino Felise, 19, Eti Filoa, 25, Walter McCarthy, 19 and Jason Naseri, 21 - were found not guilty of both murder and manslaughter.

Tino Felise, Filoa and McCarthy were found guilty of one charge of aggravated robbery.

Sentencing will take place April 23.
