BCCI congratulates Indian team
Mumbai, Dec 6 : The BCCI today congratulated the Indian team for the Tests series win against Sri Lanka which enabled them to become the number one team in ICC Test rankings.
India inflicted an innings and 24-run win over Sri Lanka today to dislodge South Africa from the top position.
'Mr Shashank Manohar, President BCCI and Mr N Srinivasan, Hony Secretary BCCI, congratulate the Indian team for winning the Test series against Sri Lanka 2-0. The Indian cricket team now stands at the top of the ICC Team Rankings,' a release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said.
It is for the first time that India has managed to reach at the top of the ICC Test rankings.
While the opening Test in Ahmedabad ended in a draw, India won the second Test at Kanpur by an innings and 144 runs and followed it with another emphatic win here at the Brabourne stadium today.
