Railways record increase in freight traffic in Apr-Jan

The freight carried shows an increase of 49.68 million tonnes over the freight traffic of 681.28 million tonnes actually carried during the corresponding period last year.

During January, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by the Railways was 78.33 million tonnes.

There is an increase of 3.78 million tonnes over the actual freight traffic of 74.55 million tonnes carried by the Railways during the same period last year, showing an increase of 5.07 per cent.
