Two Vishnodevi pilgrims die

A pilgrim, identified as Suman Kumar, 58, son of Krishan Lal of Ambala Cantt, Haryana, was yesterday found dead while he was taking rest after paying obeisance at the shrine, police said.

A pilgrim from Maharashtra, identified as Parvati Bhanukar, 78, wife of Shankar Bhanukar, died at the Pony Stand near Ardh Kuwari.

She was on her way back to Katra on a horse along with her family members while it was raining heavily on the Trikuta Hills of shrine, police said.

Severe cold conditions were reportedly the cause of death in both cases, police said, adding cases were registered under Section 174 of RPC.
