"We are very happy with the assurance from Mumbai cops. They have given us personal assurance that everything will be okay and security will be provided in every theatre. There is nothing to worry about. I am very assured about it," Johar, whose directorial venture is releasing Friday, told reporters here.
"Right now the movie will release on schedule and advance booking has opened," he added.
Along with Johar, multiplex association owners and distributors also met the commissioner.
"My Name Is Khan" has been under the Shiv Sena scanner ever since its lead actor, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, made comments in favour of the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shiv Sena activists had earlier threatened to ban the film in Mumbai, but matters have calmed down.
Set in post 9/11 US, the film also stars Kajol.
