Pedigree, a leading pet food brand, in cooperation with Waltham Center, the world's leading authority on pet care and nutrition, organized a practical workshop focusing on clinical Ophthalmology here.

A first-of-its kind event held in the city, the workshop aims to update select veterinarians on new findings in the field of veterinary ophthalmology and pet nutrition.

Dr. Caryn Plummer, Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology said, " Our objective is to try and bring the latest techniques in ophthalmology to help practicing veterinarians' upgrade their skills. We believe these workshops may help practicing vets offer better clinical solutions/services to pet owners and alleviate their pets' problems at an early stage."

The event focused on problem-oriented approach (Assessment and Medical Management) to clinical syndromes like Blindness, Uveitis, Glaucoma, Non-healing Corneal ulcers and Ocular emergencies in pets.

Workshops consisted of Clinical rounds and discussions in eye cases presented, supported by hands on practice on Direct and Indirect Opthalmoscopy, Tonometry, Nasolacrimal duct catheterization, Schirmer tear test and other diagnostic tests.
