India enters World Schools Debating Championship

Five potential students have been shortlisted by Coach Andrew Fitch who was in India in December 2009 to rigorously train the students and handpick the best five for the World School Debating Championship, Qatar.

Out of ten schools which participated in the selection process, Aditi Aggarwal (Team Leader), Madhulika S and Chetana (Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Sr. Secondary School, K.K. Nagar). and Sanchith Shivakumar and Siddarth Shrikanth (Bala Vidya Mandir) are selected to represent the Indian team from Chennai.

Trained by Andrew Fitch, a renowned debater from the English Speaking Union, UK, these five students have had series of training modules preparing them for the debating championship in India.

Speaking on the occasion, P.R. Venketrama Raja Vice Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, Ramco Systems said, "Platforms such as these provide young minds a brilliant opportunity to present themselves internationally and interact with the best coaches and students from other prestigious schools."

This is for the third consecutive year that Ramco, a enterprise software developer, will be sponsoring the Indian team.
