The tournament, which was a mix of league cum knockout matches, saw teams from Ghola Junior High School and Nimta High School emerging as the finalists from more than 65 schools played during the two days. Ghola Junior High School won by two goals in the tie breaker.
Sohail Kazi from Bagnan High School was recognized as Kolkata's most valuable player by Head Scout Jamshid Nassiri who was observing the tournament with an objective of finding promising kids showing exceptional talent in the game.
Speaking about the win Bijay Halder, Coach, Ghola Junior High School, said, "Our team has been practicing very hard for more that two weeks and I am happy they have come out victorious. We will do our best in the finals and make sure that Kolkata will be proud of us."
The 16 teams for the national finals would include the winning teams from each of the 10 cities and the best 6 runners up teams from these cities.
