Punjabi Univ wins All India Inter-Varsity Handball

The MAKA Trophy is in the pocket of Punjabi University for the third consecutive time.
In the men's final played today in the forenoon, Punjabi University carved out a facile victory over the fancied Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, 44-28.
For Punjabi University, Manpreet Singh and Karamjit Singh excelled, scoring 12 and 10 goals respectively.
Sukhwinder Singh was not far behind as he pumped in 7 goals to the delight of his team-mates.
In the women's final too, Punjabi University notched up a scintillating victory over Delhi 33-24. Rajwant Kaur was just superb as she scored a baker's dozen goals which demoralized the Delhi outfit.
Ramanjit Kaur scored 9 goals.
For the third place in the men's section, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, beat Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, 34-31 in a gruel contest.
In the women's section for the bronze medal, Kurukshetra University beat M G University, Kottayam, 29-27 in a close encounter.
Punjabi University's abounding success in Inter-Varsity tournaments in various sports disciplines speaks volumes of its dynamic director, Raj Kumar Sharma, who has worked very hard to accomplish the incredible feat of making Punjabi University the best sports university in the country.
