Chozhar Peravai slams Selva for wrong portrayal

.....

In the petition it has been mentioned as follows:
"Producer Ravindran has produced a film titled 'Aayirathil Oruvan' under the banner Dream Valley Production that has been recently released. In this film there are scenes pertaining to Chozha dynasty. In fact Chozha dynasty period was a golden era. For the first time in the whole world, democratic rule came into force during Chozha dynasty only. But in this film the director has tried to added some falsifying factors like people living in the Chozha period have been portrayed uncivilized and cannibals.

There are scenes showing the king has kept the people as his slaves. Moreover the people are shown as beggars. Worst of all is a woman in order to narrate her poverty to the king shows her breasts.

Though in the title it has been mentioned that all the characters and incidents are imaginary, some incidents which have happened in real has been shown in this film. This has created a wrong image on certain people who lived in that era. We cannot take it for granted to imagine that certain things have happened.

By depicting the Chozha dynasty in a wrong manner in this film, the present generation will create a bad impression on the Chozha king. On the dot, nobody has the right to craft imaginary stories about the history. These kinds of films will definitely mislead the people about the historical facts. Hence this film should be banned from screening and also the censor board should take back the certificate awarded."

The case is adjourned to 17th of this month. Notice has been sent to the producer and the censor board to file the reply statement.
