Soumitra unveils 'Ami Budhin Bolchi'

The album is based on the new concept of 'Experiential Soundscape'. This concept revolves around narrating a story through the innovative use of sounds, songs and music.

Renowned director Gautam Ghosh, actor Ranjit Mullick, Rajatava Dutta, Barun Chanda, Jayanta Dutta Barman and guitarist Amyt Dutta were also present at the launch.

'Ami Budhin Bolchi' has been conceptualized and created by Shom.

Speaking on the occasion, Shom said, "Ami Budhin Bolchi deals with a very unique concept i.e. experiential soundscape. I hope people enjoy listening to an audio that tells a story through music solely."

The album is associated with a number of eminent names like Soumitra Chattopadhyay who has lent his unmatchable voice to the narrative, Pradip Chatterjee of Mohiner Ghoraguli fame has also lent his voice while Amyt Dutta has made his guitar speak in his inimitable style.

Soumitra said, "Ami Budhin Bolchi has a very significant message. It appeals to all of us to treat each other equally and respectfully. I am very proud to be associated with a project like this."

The story of Ami Budhin Bolchi is centered on the main protagonist Budhin Mahato who is a young tribal boy. Buried under the pressures of social evils, Budhin takes up arms to reform society only to realize that the bullet is not the way forward, however, he is also unable to vest his faith in the existing political system which is tainted.

Unable to decide which path to follow, Budhin feels a "void" within himself and it is then that his conscience gives him a beckon call to walk the talk and delve in efforts which is without politicization that centre around inclusive growth.
